This family was such a joy to photograph! A gorgeous set of parents, and one totally adorable and photogenic baby-what a dream! To top it off, the lighting was perfect at the park in Hilton Head! We were blessed with a big, beautiful cloud during the whole session which acted as a giant softbox and kept the sun out of our eyes. Summer is definately here and one of my favorite ways to spend a breezy summer evening is with a lovely family at the beach! I met the V. family in Hilton Head yesterday for a fun family session. We met the O. family at the beach in Hilton Head for some fun family portraits on Father’s Day! Their 3 kiddos were absolutely adorable and so sweet! I thought it would be fun and also helpful to my clients if I started a post on what to wear for sessions. I know it is hard to know what will look nice in photographs and how to make colors work together, so I wanted to try to make it a little easier by posting an example. I absolutely love the classic look of white/khaki/jeans for beach portraits, but if you are looking at having your family wear a little color, then it is very important to know how to coordinate the colors so that everyone will match. If you notice in the example below, the little girls dress is patterned and all the other outfits have coordinating colors pulled from that one dress. The color combinations and styles look fabulous together! I am not advocating that you go out and buy these particular outfits, although if you see something you like the stores where they can be found are listed below. I merely want to show how different clothing pieces can be pulled from your closets and put together in ways that make your family look great! I will post more examples every couple of months, especially during the seasons. Hopefully these examples will help!
