I love silhouettes, and definitely wanted to get one of our baby bump, but I was having a hard time finding the perfect spot, until we found this tunnel! This is one of my new favorite locations in Bluffton and I think Stef rocked this silhouette!

Monday, April 23rd, 2012I have always loved strawberries, but since getting pregnant, I am OBSESSED with them! They are my one pregnancy craving that is so intense I can’t stand to be without them! On many occasions Stef has had to run out and get some for me, so now I make sure to keep our fridge fully stocked! I think this baby is going to come out a big strawberry! I know she will be just as sweet as one!
A Special Weekend | Bluffton Family Photographer
Tuesday, March 20th, 2012This weekend was one of the most special, fun, and exhausting weekends ever! My mom and sisters flew in from New York for my baby shower. We had such a wonderful time getting ready for the shower, staying up late at night chatting, and painting the nursery. It was also the first time I had ever met my little nephew Evan, and boy, am I in love! He is so adorable and was such a trooper keeping up with four women.
The baby shower was amazing! My mom and sisters put so much love and attention into all the little details. My mom made the pink table runners for all the tables, my sister Nikki made the adorable banners, and my sister Allison made the delicious red velvet cupcakes! It meant so much to me to have all my close friends and family there and to celebrate this much loved baby! Good Things Do Come to Those Who Wait | Bluffton Photographer
Tuesday, February 28th, 2012You always hear the inspirational sayings, “good things come to those who wait”, “dreams do come true”, and that “miracles can happen” during a time when a loved one is trying to comfort you. Whenever I heard those sayings, deep down I wanted to believe them, but a small part of me doubted; especially when it came to starting a family. Things were not going according to plan and after years of trying to have a baby, I was still not pregnant. We struggled for 5 years with infertility, and let me tell you, those were the longest 5 years of my life. Even now when I look back, I really don’t know how I kept it together! God, my family, friends and photography were the bright spots that kept me focused and positive, as well as, the little voice deep down urging me to believe, ”good things come to those who wait”, “dreams do come true”, and that “miracles can happen”.
Well, our dream finally has come true, and I am so happy to announce that we are going to have a baby! So, that little voice that kept whispering to my heart, telling me to not give up hope and to believe, was right! Stef and I feel extremely blessed and are so joyful about welcoming this long awaited miracle into our lives soon! We are documenting every part of this pregnancy and cherishing every kick, every ultrasound, and every sleepless night, because it truly is a miracle that we thought we would never get to experience! Here are a few of our favorite images so far. I will share more as we take them!
We are also very excited to have so many wonderful weddings booked this fall, and will be very ready to get back to photography once I return from maternity leave in July!

Saturday, February 25th, 2012I walked out of the house today and was so excited to see this beautiful Luna Moth right outside the door! The reason why this is such a big deal for me is because I have been waiting 6 years to see one! Ever since we moved to South Carolina and I heard about the beautiful and mysterious Luna Moth I have been dying to see one! I guess today is my lucky day!
Nine Years of Love | Bluffton Photographer
Wednesday, April 13th, 2011Nine years ago today this teeny tiny little kitten came into my life unexpectedly and stole my heart. At the time, I was teaching Kindergarten in Hawaii and was enjoying having no responsibilities-especially the responsibility of having a pet. One day after school I saw a group of boys walking towards me. One of the boys had something furry in his hand, and me being an animal lover went over to find out what these rascals were up to with this animal. What I saw made me want to cry! The boy had a tiny newly born kitten that looked very close to death cupped in this hands. I quickly asked them where they got the kitten and their guilty glances at each other clued me in to the fact that they had probably snatched him from his mom. Without a thought, I took the baby kitten from the boy, and walked off claiming Kai as my own.
I never imagined caring for a newborn kitten would be very similar to caring for a newborn baby, but it was! Kai was so sick when I first got him that he had a hard time eating from a bottle so he had to be fed kitten formula from a syringe every 3 hours. I woke up in the middle of the night to feed him and snuck him to work with me so I could feed him on my lunch break. It was quite an undertaking and at the time it felt overwhelming because I was very sleep deprived. But now looking back it was so one of the best experiences of my life and totally worth it!
Happy 9th Birthday Kai Kai! You have shown your love for me in so many ways and I will always treasure your snuggles in bed at night, your loud purrs when I rub your ears and our lap time together WHENEVER I sit down!
This is my absolute favorite picture of Kai and his milk moustache! He was always such a milky mess after I fed him!

Saturday, December 18th, 2010Around this time each year I always end up lying in bed one night reflecting back over the year, pondering what was and what could be. Well, that was me last night! I couldn’t sleep so I started thinking about how 2010 is almost over and the changes I would like to make in 2011. I realized though that there aren’t too many changes I want to make because 2010 was pretty fabulous! Stef and I have been truly blessed! We had the most amazing clients this year, and had so much fun photographing them all! I couldn’t have asked for a better year and I can only imgine what is in store for us in 2011! Thank you to all our clients who touched our lives in so many ways. We are honored that you chose us to photograph your beautiful families and we look forward to seeing you all again! I hope 2011 is filled with more brides, bellies and babies!

Monday, November 29th, 2010I don’t know what it is about cupcakes that makes me so happy! It must be that they remind me of the color pink, birthday parties in spring and licking frosting off my mom’s big spoon when I used to help her bake cupcakes! I just love them and I loved snapping a few photos for Holly at Sweet Carolina Cupcakes the other day. The cupcake shoppe is so dreamy and inviting when you walk in and the air so thick with sweetness!
