We met the O. family at the beach in Hilton Head for some fun family portraits on Father’s Day! Their 3 kiddos were absolutely adorable and so sweet! I thought it would be fun and also helpful to my clients if I started a post on what to wear for sessions. I know it is hard to know what will look nice in photographs and how to make colors work together, so I wanted to try to make it a little easier by posting an example. I absolutely love the classic look of white/khaki/jeans for beach portraits, but if you are looking at having your family wear a little color, then it is very important to know how to coordinate the colors so that everyone will match. If you notice in the example below, the little girls dress is patterned and all the other outfits have coordinating colors pulled from that one dress. The color combinations and styles look fabulous together! I am not advocating that you go out and buy these particular outfits, although if you see something you like the stores where they can be found are listed below. I merely want to show how different clothing pieces can be pulled from your closets and put together in ways that make your family look great! I will post more examples every couple of months, especially during the seasons. Hopefully these examples will help!

Stef and I met the fabulous Paris family last night over at Dolphin Head inside Hilton Head Plantation for some family portraits. This was my first time visiting Dolphin Head, and wow, it is an absolutely gorgeous location for pictures! Nancy and Chris are the owners of Sea Star Concierge. We had a wonderful time photographing this beautiful family at the beach in Hilton Head on Sunday evening! Their little peanut Zoe was such a cutie and one of the best 11 month olds I have ever photographed. This was Zoe’s first trip to the beach, so it was very special to capture those new moments with her and her mom and dad. Here are a few of my favorites from our session! We met this gorgeous mother and daughter yesterday over at Palmetto Bluff for an early evening photo shoot. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and lighting-it was just perfect! Little Emerson took my breath away with her big light eyes, and her good looks, which she definitely gets from her mom! Here is a sneak peek of some really sweet images of them. My favorite part about Easter when I was alittle girl always was, getting dressed up for church in my patent leather shoes, my frilly new dress, gloves and bonnet-yes, my sisters and I wore bonnets and gloves back then! As I grew up, my favorite part became more about the chocolate bunnies then dressing up, but I have always loved Easter and the beginning of spring. So, Stef and I were thrilled when Palmetto Bluff asked us to do Easter mini-sessions for their guests. I loved seeing everyone dressed so nice and the children all excited about the candy in their Easter baskets. When we arrived at Palmetto Bluff, there was an Easter egg hunt going on by the inn. Seeing the children brought back so many memories of my sisters and I running around the yard giggling while searching for chocolate and candy filled eggs that my parents had hidden so well.
The families we photographed were fabulous and they had the most beautiful children! Here is a sneak peek of just some of the families from last weekend. There are more to come that I will post soon. Thank you to everyone who came out on Easter morning to have their pictures taken with us!
I photographed this little heartbreaker last year and boy has he grown and become even more handsome! Stef and I had an awesome time yesterday hanging out with this kiddo in dowtown Savannah. Between the amazing backdrops and his adorable grin we got some really great shots that show off his personality! He even let me wear his silly band for most of the photo shoot-I felt so special!
I still can’t believe 4 years ago I had Savannah in my kindergarten class and now she is in 3rd grade. Boy how time flies, and just look at her, she has grown into such a beautiful young lady! Besides being fabulously beautiful she is also so sweet, and will always be one of my most favorite students! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day during our session on New Year’s Eve. What a great way to end 2010! Here is a sneak peek of Savannah’s session!
